UCS: First of all Shaneil Thanks for stopping
by the candyshop we really appreciate you being
a part of the movement!

UCS: First off why dont you tell everyone where
your from?

Shaneil: I’m from Salem Oregon…you know that little state between Washington and California lol, home of the Blazers

UCS: what would you say is the hardest obstacle of becoming
an established figure in the urban modeling business?

Shaneil: Really for me is just getting seen by the right people, I learned real fast its not always about what you know and how good you are but WHO you know

UCS: Physically or Mentally what would you say is your best
personal asset?

Shaneil: Well I can’t pin point one thing but I do have a down to earth personality. When people see me they are intimidated, think I might be a bitch but you can’t judge a book by its cover. I don’t know how many times people have said…OMG, I SO expected you to be stuck up, but I’m not…I’m a people person and physically I would say my eyes and smile

UCS: What Mens magazine would you say really has the “Juice” right now

Shaneil: The magazine industry is really hurting right now with the recession and all but there are still a few out there, blackmens, urbancandyshop, XXL, smooth, vblazin and show

UCS: how do you feel about the sudden spike of buttock enhancements over
the past couple of years in the urban modeling business?

Shaneil: I say to each its own, I don’t knock anyones hustle. I personally wouldn’t do it but I know it has “enhanced” a lot of careers. I appreciate everything I was given and don’t want to be 70 years old  and ugh…yeah, no thanks just had a visual!

UCS: would you ever consider any type of cosmetic upgrades?

Shaneil: Again, no knock to anyones decision to do but its just not my cup of tea. I love the way I look…thanj you mommy and daddy, the only thing I do artificial is wear make up but I’m just enhancing the beauty I already have. I use to watch those shows, the worlds most beautiful women and I think they should have 2 categories; the ladies who have had cosmetic upgrades and body enhancements and the ladies who are 100( Pure)cent Natu(Real) and that’s no disrespect to anyone

UCS: obviously you put alot of work in at the gym by the looks of it.
Whats your daily workout routine like?

Shaneil: Well I was a fitness manager for 6 years\personal trainer  and if I don’t take care of this body who will? I go to the gym 4 days a week and on my off days I get about an hour of cardio in but its not just working out as most know eating right goes hand in hand with exercising. I don’t claim to be perfect in that area but everything in moderation because I love to cook. The family calls me the black Martha Stewart, without the legal issues of course

UCS: How should a guy approach you if he wants to get to know you better?

Shaneil: I don’t know how he should approach but how he shouldn’t is with corny ass lines, trying to show off or flaunt his bling bling etc. And he better have clean nails and shoes because those are some of the first things I look at when a guy approaches me and please no yuck mouths

UCS: Gangsta or Gentlemen?

Shaneil: I don’t really have a preference on who I date, I just like who I like. My friends and family say I have weird taste but I’ve dated a little bit of everthing… Tall, short, young, old, white, gangsta, square but still particular about them I don’t just date whoever is interested in me lol

UCS: Valentines day is here already, whats the most Romantic Vday
experience youve had so far?

Shaneil: Sad to say Ive only had 2 valentines when I was in a relationship and one I was seeing but we weren’t exclusive. But my ex took me out to dinner at the most expensive restuarant in town, then got us a suite at the best hotel on the top floor and just had a wonderful night…champagne and strawberries and had a little  fun on the piano. This year I will be solo though, now I’m sad haha

UCS: Whats playing on your Ipod right now?

Shaneil: Trey Songz….I’m ready. Its on my ipod, the CD is in my car and my bathroom. I love him lol, he doesn’t know it yet but that’s my future ex husband

UCS: I know alot of men probably hit on you… what about women?
are the ladys checking for you too.. if so how do you feel about it?

Shaneil: I’m a ladies woman too, It doesn’t bother me

UCS: Major Turn offs?

Shaneil:

Negative attitudes
Liars and cheaters
Dirty shoes and nails
Poor hygeine
Unmotivated people
Laziness

UCS: Major Turn ons?

Shaneil:

Facial hair
Tattoos
Braces
Book smarts and street smarts
In shape
Tall
Ambitious people

UCS: Name 1 thing someone would be surprised to know about you?

Shaneil: Um, I like to play scrabble, do word finds, and put together jigsaw puzzles

UCS: Favorite movie to watch on a rainy day at home?

Shaneil: I really don’t have a fave anything but I enjoy watching lifetime

UCS: This modeling business has its high and low points.. whats the
worst experience youve had so far in this industry?

Shaneil: Going to a casting call and waiting for hours, just for them to give me a number and take a picture then come to find out later it was to bring bodies to the club and they already had chosen the girls a week before!

UCS: Are other models good at supporting each other in this industry or do
things tend to get a bit competitive?

Shaneil: I think there are clicks in the industry they support each other to a certain extent, I’m just going off what I’ve heard, as I am new to the game but it is a job and your not friends or co workers when it comes to trying to get a certain job….that other model is your competition

UCS: Urbancandyshop studios is in the works.. any chance we might be able to
get you to do an exclusive shoot with us in the future?

Shaneil: I would love to, just let me know when and where!
